The wood used in the Holland Pavilion came from the trusses that supported the roofs of the Dayong Sugar Warehouses at Pier-2 in Kaohsiung. Built in 1949, the warehouses stored sugar for export and witnessed the golden age of the sugar industry in Taiwan. Since 2013, the trusses started to collapse and became impossible to repair. They were hence taken down to be stored in Quishan, Kaohsiung. With design and processing, the wood that lived through history has become the indoor flooring, sliding doors, and furniture. AkzoNobel's wood coating is used to protect the wood and prolong its lifespan for reuse. 26. Indoor Flooring & Doors
